Frequently Asked Questions
How do I calculate what percent X is of Y?
Switch to the 'X is What % of Y' tab. Enter X in the first field and Y in the second. The result shows X as a percentage of Y. For example, 15 is 60% of 25.
How do I find the percentage change between two numbers?
Use the '% Change' tab. Enter the starting value in 'From (A)' and the ending value in 'To (B)'. A positive result means an increase; a negative result means a decrease.
What does 'X% of Y' mean?
It means multiplying Y by X divided by 100. So 20% of 150 = 150 × 0.20 = 30. Use the '% of Number' tab to calculate this instantly.
Can I calculate a decrease percentage?
Yes. In '% Change' mode, enter the larger number as A and the smaller number as B. The result will be a negative percentage, indicating a decrease.
