How does the meeting planner find the best time?

For each UTC hour (0–23), the algorithm checks the local time in every selected city and scores the hour based on how many cities are in their core work hours (higher score) versus flex hours (lower score). The top 3 highest-scoring consecutive windows are presented as recommendations.

What are flex hours in the meeting planner?

Flex hours are the 1–2 hours immediately before and after the defined work hours. For example, if work hours are 9:00–17:00, flex hours are 8:00–9:00 and 17:00–19:00. They are shown in yellow on the grid. Meetings during flex hours are possible but not ideal, and the algorithm prefers core work-hour overlaps when available.

What if there is no overlap between the cities I selected?

When cities span more than roughly 9–10 time zones (e.g. US West Coast and Southeast Asia), no single hour may fall within everyone's work hours. In this case, try expanding the work hours range or look for flex-hour overlaps in the grid. The recommendations section will show the best available option even without full overlap.

Does daylight saving time affect the results?

Yes, and the planner handles it automatically. The date input determines which DST rules are active in each city. Changing the date by even a day around a DST transition can shift the overlap windows. Always check the date when planning meetings near DST changeover periods in March/April and October/November.

Can I use this for a recurring weekly meeting?

Yes. Set the date to the next occurrence of your meeting day and review the recommended slots. Because DST rules vary by country, the optimal time may shift by one hour after a DST transition in one of the cities — it is worth re-checking each quarter.

How is this different from a time zone converter?

A time zone converter shows what a specific moment looks like in different cities. A meeting planner searches all 24 hours to find which moment is best for a group. Use the converter when you already know the time; use the planner when you need to find the time.
