Free Video Converter for MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM and More
Zolkit's Video Converter changes video formats entirely inside your browser. Convert MOV to MP4, MKV to MP4, WebM to MP4, AVI to MP4, MP4 to WebM, video to GIF, and other common combinations without uploading the source to a server. FFmpeg WebAssembly uses your device's processor for private local conversion, while quality, resolution, and encoding controls let you choose between speed and file size.
Local and private
Video bytes stay on your device; conversion runs inside the browser tab with no media upload.
Fast encoding mode
The default fast preset uses more of your browser's available CPU to finish common conversions sooner.
Nine output formats
Export MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, WebM, WMV, MPG, FLV, or an animated GIF from one converter.

Video Converter FAQ
How can I convert MOV to MP4 for free?
Upload the MOV file, select MP4, and start conversion. Zolkit encodes the video as H.264 with AAC audio for broad compatibility, and processing happens locally without uploading the MOV file.
Can I convert MKV or WebM to MP4 online without uploading?
Yes. Zolkit reads MKV and WebM files with FFmpeg WebAssembly inside the browser and creates an MP4 on the same device. Only the conversion engine is downloaded; the video is not sent to a media server.
Which video format should I choose?
Choose MP4 for phones, messaging, presentations, and the widest playback support. Choose WebM for websites, MOV for Apple or editing workflows, MKV for a flexible archive container, and GIF only for short silent loops.
Why does browser video conversion take time?
Changing codecs requires decoding and re-encoding every frame on your device. Duration, resolution, codec, quality, and CPU speed affect the conversion time; selecting Fast or a lower maximum resolution usually finishes sooner.
Is there a video file size limit?
Zolkit does not impose an upload limit because files are never uploaded. The practical limit is the memory available to the browser, so desktop browsers generally handle large videos better than phones.
Does video conversion reduce quality?
Most format changes re-encode the video and can introduce some loss. High Quality minimizes visible loss, Balanced is the recommended default, and Smaller File uses stronger compression. Converting to GIF removes audio and usually reduces color detail.
